Obituary

Marlys M. Dale, 88, of Chesterfield, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 3, 2018. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, Jack Dale. She is survived by her sons, Ricky Dale (Carol) and Kenny Dale (Robin). Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends have also shared in Marlys' loving life. She retired from D.G.S.C. after many years of service. After retirement, she and Jack enjoyed spending time at their place on the York River, “Tuckers Beach” where they spent much of their time fishing and enjoying the company of family and friends. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, January 8, 2018 at Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd., (Rt. 10), where her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday. Interment will follow at Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Richmond Fisher House Foundation 300 Arboretum Place, Ste. 660, Richmond, VA, 23236.

Provide financial, volunteer and emotional support for any compassionate care facility (Fisher House) located on military bases or Veterans’ Administration medical facilities in Virginia constructed under the national Fisher House Foundation umbrella beginning with the facility located at 1201 Broad Rock Boulevard, Richmond, Virginia 23249. The financial support is obtained from individual, Association and corporate contributions, gifts and donations to The Fisher House of Richmond, Inc. Volunteer support is recruited to assist with Fisher House operations and food pickups. Fisher Houses provide compassionate lodging in warm, supportive home environments free of charge for the families of seriously ill patients being treated at military and VA medical centers. Having family support close by has proven to speed up the recovery process.
