Mr. Wallace Henry Chapman, Jr. was born on December 23, 1956 in Manhattan, New York. He is remembered for his extreme passion for cars, and developed a reputation as dependable and well-known auto mechanic, both in New Jersey and Virginia. Wallace is most recognized for being a strong man not because of his physical strength, but because he dedicated his life to raising his 15 children, predominately, as a single parent. Additionally, he uniquely nicknamed each of his grandchildren prior to their birth. Wallace's provider and protective nature ensured that his family always remained connected, and taught his children the importance of depending upon one another for strength and survival. This love was reinforced daily because he had a specific family dinner set for each day of the week, but really loved cooking Sunday morning breakfasts. His most famous dish was his baked macaroni and cheese.
Wallace had a huge sense of humor and laughed at everything, but would cut you if you messed with the radio in his car, especially if Charlie Wilson was playing. He loved his children, grandchildren, cars, dolphins, helicopters, lighthouses, the color blue, "The Christmas Story", Charlie Wilson, Yolanda Adams, Usher, Rihanna, eBay, cooking, and living life. While Wallace believed in GOD throughout his entire life, He did accept and confess Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior prior to his transition from life to eternal life.
Wallace departed this life, peacefully, on April 5, 2017 at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. He spent his final days on earth as he lived many of his days, surrounded by his loving family joking, laughing and loving. Wallace was preceded in death by his parents: Wallace Henry Chapman, Sr., and Clara Chapman; three (3) daughters: Lakeya Singleton, Katara Singleton and Sonya Mosley, and two (2) brothers: Ronald Chapman and Wallace Chapman, II. He leaves to cherish and carry on his memory: his wife of 14 years, Regina Chapman; seven (7) daughters: Tawanda Singleton, Shanieka (Ronnie) Franklin, Lateera (Remby) Perry, Jacqueline Mosley, Carrie Chapman, Amber Mosley and Shavonna Pearsall; five (5) sons: Wallace Chapman, III, William Chapman, Wayne Chapman, Marcus Chapman and Javon Pearsall; 12 grandchildren, four (4) sisters: Doreen Chapman, Merrille Chapman-Martin, Marilyn Chapman and Kathy Wrencher; three (3) brothers: Vincent Chapman, Donnell Neal, and Gary Neal; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and close friends.
