Carol Kay Aller Hermsen, of Henrico County, formerly a longtime resident of Chesterfield County, has passed away at the good old age of eighty years old on Thursday, July 2nd, 2026. She was born the daughter of her father, Richard R. Aller, and her mother, Marguerite E. Aller, on Tuesday, January 8th, 1946, in the city of South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana.

Carol was known for her career as a school bus driver, beginning with the City of Newport News and retiring in Chesterfield. She drove the special needs buses, where she built a loving compassion for caring for special needs children. She loved serving at church, cooking, and gardening. Most of all, Carol was fiercely loving, loyal, and devoted to all her family, especially all her children and grandchildren.

Carol was the widow of her late husband of fifty-six years, Paul R. Hermsen Sr., and is survived by four children, four grandchildren—three granddaughters and one grandson; two great-grandsons; one sister-in-law; two brothers-in-law; two nieces; and a great nephew.

Carol’s viewing and visitation for family and friends will be held at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 4400 Beulah Rd, North Chesterfield, VA 23237, on Friday, July 17th, 2026, from 12:00 – 1:00 PM with a funeral mass to follow.
