Obituary

Ann Heron Callaway, 73, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 11, 2006. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Heron, of County Leitrim, Ireland, and Molly H. Lang, of London, England. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Darrell Callaway; sons, Douglas D. Callaway and his wife Melissa, and Ronald W. Callaway; grandchildren, Laura H. and Sarah A. Callaway; niece Shirley T. Davila, of New Brunswick, NJ. Ann was born in Brooklyn, NY. She spent her childhood years in Clydebank, Scotland, where her father served with His Majesty’s Merchant Marine during WWII. She also endured many bombings of Clydebank during the Blitz of 1940-1941. Ann joined her family in the US in 1946. She graduated from St. Peter’s School in New Brunswick, NJ. She was a sales representative in the cosmetic department at Miller & Rhoads. Ann loved her grandchildren, reading, her pets, and her many friends. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10). A graveside service will be held 11 am Wednesday at Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Friends of the Chesterfield Public Library, P.O. Box 4842, Midlothian, VA 23112, or the American Stroke Association of the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058.
