Obituary

Arnold “Arnie” Carroll Beck, 83, of Chesterfield, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 5, 2026. Born in Richmond, Virginia, Arnie served in the United States Army and Army Reserves from 1961 to 1968. He went on to become a successful entrepreneur, founding Beck’s 76 & Grocery, A.C. Beck Excavating, and A1 Commercial Grounds Maintenance. He also ran, and eventually owned, Frank Beck Fuel Oil for many years after his father retired.

Arnie was one of the hardest-working men his family and friends knew. When he wasn’t working, he cherished time with family at North Myrtle Beach, loved driving fast cars, and enjoyed fishing and water skiing. He could almost always be found in his shop, tinkering with something that needed fixing, repairing, or building.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Connie Leigh McCready Beck; two sons, Tim (Jennifer) and Matt (Lori); and six cherished grandchildren, Ashley Cartisano, Keagan Beck, Colby Beck, Carsten Beck, Laney Beck, and Ava Beck. He is also survived by his sister, Brenda McCormac (Sidney), of Chesterfield, Virginia. Arnie was preceded in death by his parents, Caroline Virginia and Thomas Franklin Beck Sr.; his sister, Linda May Gruden; and his brother, Thomas “Tommy” F. Beck.

The family will receive guests from 5:00-7:00 pm on Tuesday, July 14 at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd., N. Chesterfield, VA 23237. The funeral service will take place at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, July 15th at the Morrissett Chapel. Interment to follow at Dale Memorial Park.
