Obituary

Walker, Artie Swanson, 80, of Chesterfield, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 4, 2009. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Glenna M. Walker; granddaughter, Angel J. Schmidt; grandson, Walter S. Walker, Jr.; special daughter, Joyce Eubank; daughter-in-law, Pam Walker; five great-grandchildren; and numerous wonderful nieces and nephews. Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his son, Walter S. Walker, Sr.; sister, Ozelia W. Waller; and brothers, Phillip M., Donald B., and Bert D. Walker. Artie was a self-employed dump truck driver, the owner of the Mobile Station at Frosty’s Corner, and a former employee of Richmond Steel. The family will receive friends 3 to 5 pm on Sunday at Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rte. 10). His funeral service will be held 11 am Monday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
