Obituary
Asa Thomas A.T. Williams, Jr., 56, of Chester, born July 30, 1950, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 6, 2006. He was preceded in death by his father, Asa Thomas Williams, Sr., his kitty cat, Baby, and brother-in-law, Wayne Gregory. He is survived by his loving mother, Georgia Williams; the backbone of our family; sisters and brothers-in-law, Danease and Tracy Arrington, Barbara and Robert Phillips, Birdie and Ralph Floyd, and Ann W. Gregory; one niece, Monica; five nephews, Todd and his wife, Julie, Shane, Kevin, Beau and his wife, Lisa, and Rodney and his wife, Reba; four great-nieces and two great-nephews and devoted family and friends. The loves of his life were Sandy Crissman, Diane Carpenter, Diane O’Connell, and Laverne Hughes. He also wanted to thank his doctors, Michael Rose, Pablo Gonzalez, Thomas Eichler, Laurence Boyce, Wyatt Richardson, and Pam, and Michael Levine; his loving staff from Bon Secours Hospice—oh, how he loved them all—Eva, Paula, Karl, and Bennie; the staff at Johnston-Willis Hospital for their loving, professional care, support, and kindness; and also the Dupont Medical staff. How did he like the photo? He did. He hated getting so skinny and old-looking. He first became sick in October 2004. The beast finally got him. He is now in the arms of the Lord, our Maker. Please have a celebration of his life. He was truly blessed. He retired from Dupont as a lab technician on July 31, 2006, after nearly 33 years. He loved saltwater fishing, antiquing, cooking, the beauty of all flowers, a manicured yard, and traveling! To the end, he still had his spirit and was young at heart. All his family and friends gave him their love and support. All the cards, flowers, visits, and phone calls from everyone—he was truly blessed with such kindness. God bless you all! The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 pm on Monday at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10). His funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday in the chapel at the funeral home.
