Obituary

Aubrey Mason Shelton, 83, of Chesterfield, VA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 7, 2026. He was born on October 3, 1942 in Richmond Virginia to the late Mason “Mickey” Shelton and Mary “Lizzie” Shelton. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Carol Ester.

Aubrey is survived by his beloved wife, Betty B. Shelton; nieces, Brooke Kordas and Carrie Kordas (Andrew); nephew, Stacy Bryant; great nephew, Ethan Foster; brothers-in-law, Edward Bryant and Jerry Ester; and loving cousins.

Aubrey retired from the Commonwealth of Virginia after more than 30 years of dedicated service as a landscape planner. He was a loving person and a true jack of all trades. He had a passion for gardening and enjoyed spending time exploring flea markets in search of unique treasures. He was an avid collector of pocket knives and wristwatches. Aubrey was always willing to share his knowledge with others, offering guidance, advice, and a helping hand whenever he could. His kindness, curiosity, and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He was a member of the Sherbourne UMC for many years and is a present member of the Skipwith Baptist Church.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at Sunset Memorial Park, 2901 W. Hundred Road, Chester VA 23831.
