Obituary

Brenda Mitchell, 72, of Moseley, VA, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 15, 2021. Brenda was preceded in death by her mother, Emma L. Morris; father, Burley W. Morris; brother, Burleigh W. Morris Jr. (Gladys Morris-Cornwell); sister, Patricia A. Brickhouse (Anthony Brickhouse). She is survived by her beloved spouse of 54 years, Anthony Mitchell; two sons, Michael B. Mitchell (Melissa) and Marvin Mitchell; daughter, Lisa M. Mitchell; granddaughter, Danielle L. Hoper; grandson, Matthew J. Mitchell; two aunts, Elsie B. Allen (Alvin) and Annie M. Ross (Victor); uncle, Henry M. Allen (Roberta); four sisters, Carolyn A. Morris, Joan L. Butler (Reginald), Myra M. Jenkins (James), Terrie L. Christian (George). She is also survived by a loving host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. A second visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, October 22, 2021, at Gray’s Funeral Home, 618 Jefferson Ave., Cape Charles, VA 23310. The graveside service will take place on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at 1:00 pm at Bethel AME Church Cemetery located on Cherrydale Rd. in Eastville, VA 23347.
