The transition of life from flesh to the Holy Spirit is a process ordered by God through the blood of his son Jesus Christ. It does not represent the end but the beginning of eternal life in the kingdom of heaven. Our beloved Calvin Ernest James was called home to God’s Kingdom on May 27, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas, Sr, and Gladys James; two brothers Thomas, Jr. and Willie James.
Calvin was born on July 27, 1951, in New York, NY. He was educated in Richmond Public Schools and New York Public Schools. He was drafted to the United States Army in 1971. He was a master tree climber for over 25 years. He enjoyed cooking, music and was the life of any party. But mostly, he enjoyed his family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory his fiance, Robin E. Ford; sons, Shaun and Darris James and Rashaun Ford; six grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins-among them a devoted Vianece Taylor (through it all); and other relatives and friends.
