Obituary

Carolyn Carter Patterson, 77, of Chesterfield, VA went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 in her home, surrounded by her family and her furbabies. She fought a courageous battle with melanoma. She was born on July 11, 1946 in Richmond, Virginia to the late Mary Louise and James Thomas Carter, Sr.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Robert Thomas Patterson; daughters, Tabitha Patterson Marek, Sheilah Danatte Patterson, and Tonya Dawn Patterson; grandson, Dylan Thomas Marek; her nine adored Kitties; and her Grandpuppy, Loki. She is also survived by her brother, James Thomas Carter, Jr. (Lynne); one niece; and three nephews.

Carolyn was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She found happiness in life by being a dedicated homemaker for her family. Her faith was unwavering her entire life even throughout her trying journey. She was a member of Matoaca Christian Fellowship church, and she was uplifted and grateful for the love, prayers, and support of her Church Family. Carolyn loved the beach and enjoyed many getaways at her beach house in Garden City Beach, South Carolina.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Morrissett Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road, North Chesterfield, VA 23834. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Matoaca Christian Fellowship, 7700 River Road, Matoaca, VA 23803. Interment to follow at Dale Memorial Park, 10201 Newbys Bridge Road, Chesterfield, VA 23832.
