Obituary

POULSTON SR, Charles Bernard, 97, of North Chesterfield, passed away on April 27, 2025. He is survived by his son, Charles B. Poulston Jr.: his daughter, Debra P. Barnes and son-in-law, Barry I. Strickland; and granddaughters, Christie B. Poulsen and husband, Trey, and Marci L. Barnes. He is also survived by two brothers, Horace E. Poulston and Earl W. “Butch” Poulston, both of North Chesterfield, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Grace Bosher Poulston; his parents, Henry Poulston, Sr. and Ester Hague Poulston; and siblings, Henry Poulston, Jr., Harold Poulston, Edith Johnson, and Kathleen Jennette. He enlisted in the Navy at age 17 and worked as a machinist during World War II on the USS Proteus. He was a supervisor in the power house at DuPont and retired after 42 years. He loved camping, bowling, hunting, fishing, gardening, and fixing up old tractors. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd., N. Chesterfield, VA 23234. A funeral service will be held the next day, May 2, 2025, 10:30 a.m. at Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service. A brief grave side service will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 2901 W. Hundred Rd., Chester, VA 23831.
