Obituary
Charles “Chuck” Dietrich went to be with the Lord on March 1, 2023, surrounded by family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles Dietrich and Esther Skiba; sisters, Jeanette Wright and Joan Eppenstein; and his son Dwayne Havens.
Chuck was born in Williamsport, PA on June 22, 1945. He studied engineering at Penn State University. While attending college, he designed equipment used by the government to help protect American soldiers in the Vietnam War.
Chuck served his country honorably for over 22 years in The United States Marine Corps. His positions included posts overseas as well as a recruiter and trainer of Marines. He retired having achieved the rank of Master Sergeant. Chuck continued working for the government as a Project Manager for Defense Supply Center of Richmond. During his lifetime he received awards from the Defense Logistics Agency and The White House.
And then one night at a social gathering, a woman named Anne asked him to dance and Chuck realized he had met his soul mate. They immediately fell in love and were happily married for 21 years. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother.
Chuck is survived by his wife Anne; sister Shirley Hill; daughters Tina Becker (Matt), Dee Dietrich, and Donna Aldridge (David); sons P.J. Dietrich, Peter Dietrich, and Wayne Havens (Kim); grandchildren Kaeden, Ava, Crystal, Juston, William, Cynthia, Jessica, Dylan, and Autumn; seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023 beginning at 1:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Chuck lived a life that displayed faith in the Lord, love for his family, and dedication to his country.
