Obituary

Rainey, Clarence Hawthorne, 82, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 16, 2007. Clarence was retired from the Medical College of Virginia, was a member of Branchs Baptist Church, and served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was born in South Hill, VA to Cammie Edward Rainey and Lottie Lambert Rainey. Clarence graduated from South Hill High School in 1942. He worked for 13 years at Virginia Power, where he met his wife, Margie. They lived in Fredericksburg and Petersburg, and moved to Richmond to make it their home. It was then that he went to work for the Medical College of Virginia until his retirement on May 1, 1990. He is survived by his wife, Margie W. Rainey; two sisters, Louise R. Tigue and Cammie R. Puckett; a niece, Joanne T. Wiley; and a nephew, James G. Puckett, Jr. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 PM Tuesday at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10). His funeral service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment to follow in Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Branchs Baptist Church Building Fund, your local rescue squad, or your favorite charity.
