Obituary

Hanbury, Claude B., 74, of Chesterfield, VA, and formerly of South Norfolk, VA, passed away in a Richmond area hospital on Friday, November 14, in the loving presence of his family. Mr. Hanbury is survived by his wife, Peggy H. Hanbury of Chesterfield, VA; son, Dr. C. Michael Hanbury, daughter-in-law Kathleen Marie C. Hanbury, and granddaughters Carleigh Marie and Brenna Grace Hanbury with residences in Huntington Beach, CA and Indianapolis, IN; sister, Margaret Elva Hanbury of Chesapeake, VA; niece, Brenda H. Jones of McLean, VA; nephews, Lin C. Hanbury of Suffolk, VA and Randall A. Harris of Chesapeake, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilma and Claude Hanbury of South Norfolk, VA; sisters, Annette H. Harris of Chesterfield, VA and Lois H. Tegerides of Virginia Beach, VA and brother, Linwood M. Hanbury of Virginia Beach, VA. Mr. Hanbury retired from Bell Atlantic (Verizon) after forty years of dedicated service. He resided in the Richmond area since 1966. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, Branchs Baptist Church and was a member of Meadowbrook Country Club since 1967. The family extends its sincere appreciation and gratitude to all of the medical professionals who provided care and assistance. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4:30 PM Monday, November 17 at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10). Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, November 18 at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Cecil J. Chambers officiating. Interment will follow at 3 PM in Rosewood Memorial Park, 631 N. Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, VA.
