Obituary
Clyde Edward Mawyer Jr., 71, of Petersburg, Va., passed away November 8th, 2022, surrounded by his family and loved ones. Clyde, who was known by “Eddie,” is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Alice Mawyer and brother, Winston Mawyer. He is survived by his sister, Annie St. Clair; children, (sons) Clyde, Brent, Jason and Cody Mawyer, (daughter) Kasey Mawyer, 8 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Eddie grew up in Petersburg, Va. where after school he started his career in the trucking industry. He was very fond of his driving achievements throughout his career for excellence and safety- acquiring more than 40 years of safe driving and awards over his career. Eddie had a love for music and taught himself to play the guitar. He would enjoy sitting around picking old tunes and singing oldies. Eddie was naturally witty, hilarious, and the life of the party. He made lifelong friends anywhere he went. Eddie’s love for his children and grandchildren was unmatched. He touched generations with his love, care, and generosity.
Friends and family are welcome to a viewing. It will be held Sunday November 20th, 2022, from 6 to 8 pm at Morrissett Funeral home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd in Chesterfield, Va. His services will follow on November 21st, 2022, at 12:00 pm where he will be placed in his final resting place at Blandford Cemetery.
