Obituary

Daniel “Danny” Alexander Willis, 80, of Chester, VA went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 22, 2021. Danny was born in Ashland, Alabama where he lived until he graduated from Clay County High School. He then enlisted in the Navy where he served as a corpsman at the Naval Hospital in Portsmouth Virginia. It was while in Portsmouth that he would meet, and eventually marry his wife. Shortly after getting married, he received a job offer from DuPont and would move to Richmond to start their new life. He was highly active in the churches that they attended and eventually attended Oak Grove Baptist Church. It was there that he was ordained as a deacon and served the Lord until his physical condition prevented him from doing so. He had many loves of activities ranging from coaching little league baseball, fishing, auto racing, traveling, spending time with his grandchildren, and gardening. He is preceded in death by his parents Beamon & Norma Willis. Danny is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carolyn W. Willis; sons, Kirk Willis (Dolores) and Darrin L. Willis; grandchildren, Colton and Ashleigh Willis; sisters, Ellen Kirk Jacobus, Jean Kirk Watts, and Clara Lois “Katie” Vecchio. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday, March 5 at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. N. Chesterfield, VA 23234.
