Obituary

David Kevin Miles also known as Bud Light Dave or Diamond Dave, 60, of Powhatan, VA went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 1, 2026. He was born in Richmond, Virginia to Juanita R. Miles and the late Paul Leslie Miles, Sr. He is preceded in death by his brother, Paul Leslie Miles, Jr.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Brittany R. Layne (Derek); grandchildren, Jameson Layne and Willow Layne; sister, Christina L. Miles; brothers, Daniel D. Miles, Christopher L. Miles, and Mark A. Miles; aunt, Paula Ashbridge; nephews: Kyle Ashbridge, Brandon Ashbridge, Brandon Miles, Michael Miles, and Matthew Miles; great-nephew, Dakota Miles; great-niece, Lilian Miles; and numerous extended family members.

David was a man who found joy in both people and simple pleasures. He loved the beach and fishing, and he especially enjoyed visiting Yorktown, places where he could relax and take in the world around him. His only daughter held a special place in his heart, as did his grandchildren and animals, whom he loved deeply. He spent hours building and painting model cars—Pontiacs were his favorite—and took great pride in his yard and garden, always fixing, tending, and improving things with care. David was a natural talker who loved connecting with anyone he met, and his warmth, curiosity, and hands-on spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road, North Chesterfield, VA 23234.
