August 09, 1960 - October 03, 2023
North Chesterfield, Virginia

David Wayne Williams, 63, of North Chesterfield, VA went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. He was born on August 9, 1960 in Richmond, Virginia to the late Jimmy Liston Williams and Mabel Marie Young. David is survived by the love of his life, wife of 44 years, Joey Williams; daughter, Spring Lunsford (Dino); son, DJ Williams (Brittany); son in law, TJ Bailey; three grandchildren, Tyler, Charlotte and Tucker; two fur babies, Kevan and Karen; one grand fur baby, Moose; two sisters, Janet Pitts (Mark), Vicky Carlisle (Mike); two brothers, Garry Williams (Marie), Scott Williams (Lisa). David worked for JH Martin & Sons for 38 years before becoming part owner of M & W Construction. To say that he was a “MacGyver” and could fix anything is an understatement. David is proof that not all heroes wear capes, some wear bucket hats. We are just as shocked as you are with the sudden passing of David in a hospital and not by drowning as “The King of the James” couldn’t swim.  Do not fret though, David will have his favorite life jacket with him in heaven (although we hope GOD finally gives him the ability to float). Of all the things that David taught us, the one thing he didn’t prepare us for was a life without him.  We, too, are at a loss for words… Please join us this Monday, October 9, 2023 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road for a viewing.  Super casual attire is welcomed as David was never a fan of suits.  If you have a favorite photo (or photos) of David that you would like to share or a memory that you can write down, that would be appreciated by the family at the viewing Monday.

  5. Pam Bates says:

Joey, my heart is breaking for you and your family and David’s siblings. The memories have come flooding back of times I spent with y’all on the water. David was my guardian angel during a confrontation that would have escalated had he not stepped in. I thanked God for him then and I thank God for him now. You all are in my thoughts and prayers always.
