Obituary

Deborah Ellen Toop Robertson, 70, of Chesterfield, Virginia went peacefully to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 3, 2024, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on August 11, 1954, in Swindon, England to the late US Air Force CMS Frank W. and Margaretta Toop.

She is rejoicing in Heaven with her beloved husband Richard Wayne Robertson and her precious daughter Melissa Ellen Robertson. Debbie is survived by her loving daughter Jennifer Lynn Robertson; her cherished siblings Robert Warren Toop (Judith Toop), Carol Toop McCollough (Clark McCollough), and Janice Toop Leonard; and sister-in-law Cheryl Robertson Hayes. Deborah is also fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends whose lives she touched throughout the years. Deborah will be terribly missed.

Deborah valued the priceless friendships made at Dover High School (1972) and University of Delaware (1976). She was sassy, faithful, straightforward, hardworking, and a loyal friend. Debbie enjoyed working as a teacher’s aide in Chesterfield County Public Schools and later volunteered in her community and Wesley United Methodist Church. Debbie treasured her Soul Sisters Sunday school class as well as traveling with friends and her sister Jan. In fact, Debbie had just returned from a lovely vacation in the beginning of October.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3 pm Friday, November 8, 2024, followed by afternoon tea reception at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3701 Conduit Road, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation. Please dedicate donations in memory of Deborah Robertson at askccf.org or 5211 W.
