Obituary

Dennis Patrick Bradley, Sr., 77, Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and Purple Heart Recipient, went to his heavenly home on Monday, December 4, 2023. He lived a life guided by his love and joy in Christ, proudly proclaiming the gospel everywhere he went. If you knew Dennis, you knew that he loved to make others laugh and would go to great lengths to get a chuckle from a friend or stranger. You could hear Dennis coming from a mile away because he was always singing a joyful tune with a smile on his face. For many years, he worshipped the Lord at Bainbridge Street Baptist in Richmond, Virginia, with his extended family and friends and served as a children’s Sunday school teacher and Wednesday night dinner cook. As a husband, father and grandfather, he was a fierce encourager, a dedicated sounding board and a faithful prayer. His family knows that he is now singing his favorite gospel tunes in heaven. Dennis was preceded in death by his wife Frances Lois Payne Bradley, his parents William Gordon Bradley and Geneva Bridie Wheelhouse, and his siblings William Bradley, Jr. and Michael Bradley. He is survived by his children Tammy Castellanos, Elizabeth Riddick (Michael), Dennis Bradley, Jr.; his grandchildren, Victoria Gentry (Jesse), Ella Castellanos, Christian Riddick, Francesca Riddick; his greatgrandchildren, Iris Gentry and Merida Gentry; his siblings Linwood Bradley, Sally Simmons, and Catherine Vedder. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday December 8, 2023 at Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road, North Chesterfield, VA 23234. His funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at the funeral home. Interment to follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Oak Grove Christian Church Cemetery, 20581 US-29 Chatham, VA 24531.
