Obituary

Don “Donnie” Robison, 74, of Chesterfield, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 27, 2021.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald “Mike” and Gatha B. Robison. He is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Paige Robison; daughters, Donna Lynn Newcomb, Jackie Dee Tavel (Chris); step-daughters, Kim S. Thayer (Gene), Michele S. Howell (Brett); step-son, Michael S. Sanford, Jr.; sisters, Peggy R. Johnston (Kirk), Janet R. Treanor (Craig); brother, Gary R. Robison (Sandi); granddaughter, Jessica Patricia Sullivan; grandson, Reece Newcomb; step-grandsons, Dylan Heath, Jackson Howell; step-granddaughters, Jordan Heath, Halie Sanford; step-great grandson, Drake Puryear.  Don was a proud graduate of Manchester High School and Hampden-Sydney College, where he excelled on their basketball teams. He was an avid fisherman, bowler, and certified Master Gardener, but most loved spending time with his family and friends. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Friday, December 3, 2021 at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service. His Celebration of Life will follow at 3:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Hampden-Sydney Roundball Club c/o The Office of College Advancement P.O. Box 637, Hampden Sydney, VA 23943 alumni.hsc.edu.

  1. I am so sorry for the entire Robison family. Don was such a sweet-sweet soul and always so kind. You all are in the hearts of The Martin Family. We have such great memories from the days at Cosby. I am glad Don is no longer suffering and it is a gift that you guys know he is with his Lord and Savior. Hugs to all.

  2. I was so very sorry to hear of Donnie’s passing. He was a wonderful, kind and generous man and I am a better person for knowing him. I will love him always.
