Donald Sheffield Jernigan, 54, of N. Chesterfield went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 6, 2020. Donald is survived by his parents Johnny and Bernice Jernigan; sons Christopher and Domanic Jernigan; siblings Johnathan Juan Jernigan, Lorenzo Leuhaun Jernigan, Jonice Jernigan and Denice Jernigan. Friends may visit from 11 am to 12 pm on Thursday, January 16 with a funeral service following at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. N. Chesterfield, VA 23234. Donald”™s graveside service will be held at 2 pm following the service at Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia, VA.

  1. Don, I remember every summer coming to Raleigh with daddy and coming over to the house and playing with you and Juan, Lo, & the twins. I had a blast!! I will always cherish those memories. Until we meet again, R.I.P. Cuz.

  2. Almost 40 years have passed since we first met. I was sitting on the C.Q. desk when you came over to D. Co. from A. co. we were to become best friends. We did a lot of things together. Met our wives together and were each other’s best man. You have been taken from us way too early and you will be missed very much by all. I hope that you now can rest in peace. I love you my brother.

    Sgt. Jernigan waa my first gunner in Germany and I always had the utmost of respect for him. Being the new guy not only in the service but on his tank he taught be alot not only to be a better soldier but s person as well. Take care brother and we’ll see ya on the other side. E

  4. My deepest sympathy to Mr “J’s” family. He will be missed. I have many memories from working with “J” and from our talks each year on his birthday. RIP “J”…forever in my heart.
