Obituary

Dottie Crowder, 87, of Chester VA, affectionately known to her family as mom, gram, and nanny went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 8, 2023. She retired from Philip Morris in 1991, and enjoyed seeing her friends at the PM Retiree events. Dottie was a devoted member of Destiny Church, and looked forward to Pastor Jeff and Kimberly’s weekly message. Her favorite song was ‘I Can Only Imagine’ by MercyMe. Dottie faithfully supported the annual Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network walk, sponsored by H.F. Bulifant & Sons, and the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She enjoyed her flowers (particularly roses), having lunch with friends, taking cruises, and seeing Tony Jackson and other performers at the Old Dominion Barn Dance.

Dottie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Snyder. She is survived by her son, Rick Bulifant (Amanda); daughter, Tammy Myers; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. Dottie will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at Morrissett Funeral Home and Cremation service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road, North Chesterfield, VA 23834. In lieu of flowers, Dottie requested memorial contribution may be made to the BCAN foundation, St. Jude, or a charity of your choice.
