Obituary

Eggleston, Dorothy Irene, 67, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord on June 15, 2009. She was the daughter of the late James William and Florence Goldie Cole Munford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Martin Eggleston. She is survived by her son, David Martin Eggleston; sisters, Florence Smith, Marion West, Margaret Anderson and her husband Jerry, Barbara Sanford, and Peggy Culpepper and her husband Dennis; brothers, George Munford and his wife Joan and Ed Munford and his wife Janice; numerous nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends. She was a secretary and volunteer at Bellwood Elementary School for more than 30 years, as well as the secretary for two bowling leagues and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday (today) at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10). Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church at 3801 Beulah Rd., Richmond, VA 23237.

  2. I worked with Dorothy for many years at Bellwood. She was always there to help you and always had a smile for you. My prayers are with all her family.

  3. Aunt Dot was a good person, she gave me some of the best childhood memories. She taught me how to tie my shoes, the love of reading. Every year for my birthday, she would take me to the state fair. Oh, so many memories….
