Ferrara, Paul Benjamin, Dr., 68, Of Chesterfield, Passed Away Quietly At Home On May 30, 2011 With His Wife Holding His Hand. Born In Syracuse, Ny, He Was Preceded In Death By His Parents, Edward V. And Marion Ferrara, And Brother, Dr. Edward V. Ferrara, Jr. He Is Survived By His Wife Of 36 Years, Dale Lynn Ferrara; Three Sons, Dr. Mark S. Ferrara, And Wife, Dr. Liangmei Bao, Dr. Paul G. Ferrara, And Anthony D. Ferrara; Grandson, Gregory N. Ferrara; Sister, Mary Wyatt, And Husband, John; Two Brothers, Richard Ferrara, And Wife, Alice, Dr. James Ferrara, And Wife, Cory; Sister-In-Law, Linda Ferrara; And Many Nieces And Nephews. Paul Served As Director Of The Virginia Department Of Forensic Science And Dedicated Thirty-Three Years To Improving Public Safety, Most Notably By Pioneering The Use Of Dna Technology. A Longtime Motoring And Sports Enthusiast, Paul Once Raced Sprint Carts And In Competitive Auto Crossing, And He Continued To Enjoy Driving His Corvette On Nice Afternoons. In Retirement, Paul Found Contentment On The Golf Course, In The Natural Beauty Surrounding His Home, And In The Simple Tasks Of Everyday Life. He Will Be Sorely Missed By His Loving Family And Many Others Nationwide. Interment Will Be Private. A Gathering To Celebrate Paul’S Life Will Be Held At 1:00 Pm, Monday, June 13, 2011, At The Cultural Center Of India, 6641 Ironbridge Pkwy., Chester, Va 23831.
