Obituary

Edeltraud “Traudel” Franziska Mahaney, 74, of Richmond, Virginia passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents; Christian & Franziska Stroebert; and sister, Rosemarie Mergenthal. Traudel is survived by her daughter, Erika Mahaney; brother, Berthold Stroebert; sister, Margarete Mueller; and former husband, Chuck Mahaney.

A memorial gathering will be held at 1:00-3:00 pm on Saturday, January 7, 2022. at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd., N. Chesterfield, VA 23234. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden

  1. Oh no 😢. We are so sorry for your loss. I knew Traudel in Germany and she was a good friend, always kind and understanding. Condolences from Jasmine, Bianca, and Gabriele. We are so sad.

    Such sad news. Traudel was a good friend for many years. Even after she moved to Richmond, we still spent time together and kept in touch. I will miss her. My sincerest condolences to her family and friends.

  4. She loves plants. All she had to do was to think about growing one and it was there.!!
    She also loved Frank Sinatra!!
