Obituary
Edward Glen Bender, age 68 went to be with the Lord Saturday, February 11, 2023 at his home in Richmond, Virginia with his family by his side. He was born in Hacker Valley, West Virginia on October 28, 1954.
Edward was survived by his wife Brenda Bender, son Curtis (Tiffany) Bender, twin daughters Kayla and Kara Bender, and stepson Brendon (Kelly) Bender; and 2 grandsons (Isaac and Latrell) which he loved very much!
He is preceded in death by; his father Jearl Kert Bender and his mother Velma Rosetta Cowger Bender Jordan; step father Edward Jink Jordan, brothers Ervin Bender and Herbert Bender; sister Mary Mills and her husband Jeff Mills.
He is survived by: nine siblings- sister Linda (Dewayne) Mayle of Clarksburg, WV; sister Gretta (Wallace) Pugh of Hacker Valley, WV; sister Connie (Tom) Clark of Charleston, WV; brother Ernest Bender of North Chesterfield, VA; sister Renita (Bobby) Crowe of South Chesterfield, VA; Joan (Frankie) Williams of Replete, WV; sister Desta (Dalton) of Fredrick, MD; brother Marvin(Rebecca) Bender of Cleveland, WV; and brother Andrew(Heather) Bender of Hacker Valley, WV: Two sister-in-law- Alice Bender of Hobbs, New Mexico and Betty Bender of Belington, WV. Two step brothers- Rodney(Terri) Jordan of Lewisburg, WV; and Randall(Vickie) Jordan of Hacker Valley, WV.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing! He had a love for animals, and would save every single one if he could have! He spent many years working construction, and enjoyed telling you what roads he had built. He was a strong hardworking man!
Dad will be missed here on Earth, but we know you have your new body, and all 10 toes! You are no longer in pain! Dad would not want us to be crying, and to be honest he would be telling us; “stop all that crying or ima give you something to cry about!” Dad, this is not a goodbye! This is a see you later! We love you!
A visitation will be held at 1pm Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road, N. Chesterfield, with a funeral service to follow at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers; please donate for funeral costs.

I remember Ed for being so kind to animals.
He was a big bear of a guy and you wouldnt expect he had the softest heart for small animals but he sure did.
He was always trying to save them.
I wont forget the raccoon that he built a home for, raised and fed among many Dogs and Cats that he was kind enough to rescue from abuse and neglect.
I will always remember how much he loved animals and I know he is surrounded by them now in heaven, caring for them as he did here.
He is one of a kind and will be deeply missed.
