Obituary
Edward T. Jenkins, age 63, of Richmond, VA. passed January 25th, 2024 at home surrounded by family after a 2yr battle with cancer.Edward was born September 15th, 1960 in Norwood, MA, the son of the late Edward Joseph and Anna Marie Jenkins. He lived a short time in Canton before moving to East Bridgewater where he attended and graduated from East Bridgewater High School. He furthered his education at the Berklee College of Music in Boston in 1978 for one year. He then transferred to Massasoit Community College where he graduated in Business Management.
Ed enjoyed all aspects of music. Though very talented on multiple instruments, his love was the piano since the age of 7. He played with 2 bands: first, Telstar, then finished with the band Total Eclipse with his lifelong friends, Vinny Pizzi & John DiSantos. With this band they played multiple venues and were featured on the Jerry Lewis Telethon at Faneuil Hall in Boston. Along with his love of music, he enjoyed watching and attending all Boston Sport teams, chess, reading, cooking, watching old time TV shows, judge shows, camping, and playing his piano. However, his biggest love was his family. Edward met Suzanne in 1976, dated through her high school years before getting married in June of 1983. Together they brought up 3 children while living in Taunton.
While in Massachusetts, Ed worked for many franchises with D’Angelo’s Sandwich Shop being his longest of over 20yrs as a manager before advancing to a district supervisor. In 2004, Ed and the family moved to Chesterfield, VA. There they lived until his retirement with Wawa. With all their children grown with families of their own and an empty nest, Ed and Suzanne started over in 2020 with selling their home and buying an RV for their dream of traveling the United States with their base home being Indian Cove Resort in Virginia Beach. Together they enjoyed spoiling their grandchildren, traveling to visit family and friends, and spoiling their beloved dogs, Toast and Ruby. While at the Cove, they enjoyed camping and making new friends, and new family memories which included lazy relaxing days at the beach or by the pools. In May of 2021, they began traveling cross country, returning home in August then off again to explore all the Great Lakes.
Ed is predeceased by his sister, Gail and husband Joseph Adamik; father in-law Richard Braley; brother in-law Steven Braley; and his former sister in-law Kandice Braley.
