Obituary

Elizabeth Terrell Ritt Vaughan, 90, of Chester, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 1, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bessie Grey Ritt and Aubrey Elwood Ritt; stepmother, Margaret Ritt; siblings; Evelyn Mendy, Aubrey Ritt, Renzer Wrey, Benny L. Ritt, and Alfred Ritt; and great-grandson, Casey Duke. Elizabeth is survived by her children, Cheryl Faye McNamara (George), Teresa Gail Eyler (John), and Gerald Lynn Vaughan (Monica); brothers, Roy Ritt (Julia) and David L. Ritt;brother-in-law, Jordan “Jerry” Temple; grandchildren, Katherine Duke (Rodney), Steven McCauley (Ronda), Hope Whisnant (Jeffrey), Johnny Eyler, Jr. (Ginny), Jessica Salinas (Aidan), and Morgan Markins (Josh); great-grandchildren, Mary O’Brien (Sean), Ryan Duke, Nicholas Grutzmacher, Alexandra Shows, Christopher Hancock, Hunter Hancock, Blake Hancock, Van Palmer, Kaylynn Browder, Aiden Eyler, Connor Eyler, Riley Eyler, Liam Eyler, Alice Salinas, and Callahan Markins; and great-great-granddaughter, Amberleigh O’Brien.
Elizabeth was a tiny lady filled with amazing drive and energy. She worked harder than anyone we’ve ever known. She retired from American Filtrona after 36 years of dedicated service, but she always remained busy taking care of family and friends.
Elizabeth was a true and faithful friend, loving and caring. She was the most amazing and wonderful mother and grandma, always training and preparing us for life. She lived her life loving God and loving people. She loved truly and deeply, nurtured her children and taught them the love of Christ, she lived out her faith by being the hands and feet of Jesus on earth. She was always a prayer warrior and gave blessings and hugs wherever she went. Her wisdom and counsel will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Until we meet again, we hold her faithfully and tenderly in our hearts and memories. We love you forever momma.
A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 6 at Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd., N. Chesterfield, VA 23234. Elizabeth’s funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 7 at the Morrissett Chapel. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
