Obituary

Elsie S. Harris, age 101 of Chesterfield, VA departed this earth and went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, October 25, 2025. She was the youngest of nine children born to James and Ada Sprouse of Louisa, VA. They all preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Edward Wayland Harris. She is survived by her son, Larry Edward Harris and three grandchildren, Katie (Adam Reza), Tyler and Michael, many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.

Elsie retired from Chesterfield County Accounting Department and was a faithful member of Branch’s Baptist Church since 1950.

The family will receive guests from 3:00-6:00 pm on Wednesday, October 29 at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd., N. Chesterfield, VA 23234. Elsie’s service will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, October 30 at the Morrissett Chapel. A private interment will be held at Westhampton Memorial Park.   2. LARRY, THIS IS NANCY RYAN. JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT AUNT ELSIE AND UNCLE WAYLAND WERE VERY SPECIAL PEOPLE IN OUR LIVES. ELSIE ALWAYS DISPLAYED KINDNESS AND JOY WHENEVER WE WERE TOGETHER. SHE WAS A LOVING SISTER TO OUR SARA TOO. SHE WILL BE MISSED. GOD BLESS YOU.
