Obituary
Emanuel “JR” Esposito, 76, passed away on March 29, 2026, in North Chesterfield, Va., surrounded by family.
He was born on September 12, 1949 in Brooklyn, NY, to Emanuel P. Esposito and Angela Esposito.
JR graduated from Baldwin High School in 1968 and went on to start his own successful business in 1975, JR Motor Lines Trucking Company, proudly owning and operating the company for 50 years.
JR married Joyce Esposito on July 4, 1981. The couple had 3 children, Misty Anderson, Nicole Rowland, and John-Ross Esposito.
JR was best known for his incredible work ethic, and famous slogan, “If I don’t work, you don’t eat.”
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Esposito, daughters; Misty Anderson, Nicole (William) Rowland, son; John-Ross Esposito, grandchildren; Zachary Anderson, Shyan Anderson, Angela Rowland, Bennett Rowland, and Lucas Rowland, as well as extended family members.
He is preceded in death by parents, Emanuel P. Esposito and Angela Esposito, and sister, Johanna Bordonaro.
A visitation for JR will be held on April 9, 2026 from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM at Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd., North Chesterfield, VA 23234.
JR’s funeral service will be held the following day, Friday, April 10, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Morrissett, with an interment to follow at 11:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, 535 S. Crater Road (Rt. Bus 460), Petersburg, Virginia 23803. There will be no procession.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in JR’s name to the Boys Town Charity.
