Obituary

Erica Elizabeth Ziemer, 54, of Heathsville, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 6, 2018. Erica was born in Buffalo, New York, and grew up in DeKalb, Illinois. She attended the University of Illinois and received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 1986. Her career in technology took her to Northern California, where she resided for many years before making Heathsville her forever home. An accomplished seamstress and needlepoint artist, downhill skier and snowboarder, and water skier, Erica also loved to cook and plan gatherings of family and friends. Upon acquiring her Chesterfield County Master Gardener certification, she was deeply involved with the annual Bumble Bee Jamboree sponsored by the Chesterfield County Cooperative Extension. She is survived by her loving husband, Eric J. Archer Jr.; mother, Maryann T. Ziemer; sister, Andrea Ziemer (Cory Probasco); brothers, Greg Ziemer (Taylor Slevin) and Jeff Ziemer (Cheri Ziemer); nieces, Jacqueline and Alexandra Ziemer; nephew, Hilliard Probasco; daughters, Erica Archer and Kelly Erie; granddaughter, Lillian Archer; and grandsons, Alexander, Christian, and Donnie Erie. Erica was preceded in death by her father, Edwin A. Ziemer. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 23, 2018, 10:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service: 6500 Iron Bridge Rd (Route 10) North Chesterfield, VA 23234.
