Obituary

Hudson, F. Wayne, 69, of Chesterfield, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 16, 2010. A native of Richmond, he was preceded in death by his parents, Rodger Kent and Mildred Spain Hudson. He is survived by Elizabeth “Sissy” Hudson; two daughters, Tanja Dickerson (Wayne) and Sheila Nickels (Andy); two sisters, Edith McCoy (Chuck) and Alice Ford; three brothers, Kent Hudson, Samuel Hudson (Fran), and James Hudson (Judy); three grandchildren, Laura Beth Nickels, Nick Nickels, and Brandon Dickerson; and great-grandson, Greyson Green. Wayne was a US Army veteran. He retired after many years with American Door and Glass in Richmond. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, November 28 at Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church, 7151 Belmont Rd., Chesterfield, VA 23832, where a memorial service will follow at 3 p.m., with Pastor Derrick Parson officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church.

  1. Sissy and Family, Butch and I were so sorry to learn of Wayne’s death on last Tuesday. Our thoughts of him and the memories from the dance club are so vivid in our minds. May God give you comfort during this difficult time. Linda

    Please accept my deepest sympathy with the passsing of Wayne.

    I wish I could be there tomorrow to share in the Memorial Service to honor Wayne’s life.

    I have many fond memories of growing up in the neighborhood with Wayne.

    Wayne was a kind and caring indvidual. I know he will be missed by his loving family and his many friends.

    May he now rest in peace.

    Dear Sissy, Don’t know if you remember me, I knew you and Wayne from Bronco’s, I was Cindy Garcia then. I was very saddened to read about Wayne’s passing. I remember fondly that you two were among the first people I met at Bronco’s and you were very kind. I enjoyed watching you dance together!
