Obituary

Maloney, Frances E., 89, of Richmond, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 24, 2010. She was the daughter of the late David T. and Maggie C. Maloney and the beloved niece of the late Lizzie Cox. She is survived by her cousins, Dorothy Claytor, Royce Claytor, Darlene Beets, Branden Beets, Alicia Beets, and Maya Claytor. Frances grew up in Oregon Hill, graduated from John Marshall High School, and was a loyal member of Pine Street Baptist Church. She worked as a payroll clerk in Public Works with the City of Richmond. In 1968, the Sherwood Reeder Award was bestowed upon her for exceptional work. After 41 years of service, she retired in 1968. Her three loves were family, baseball, and root beer. As a child, she could hear the corks popping on the homemade root beer in the cellar. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, March 26 at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rte. 10). Her funeral will be held graveside Saturday, March 27 at 11:00 a.m. in Riverview Cemetery.
