Obituary

Frances Hay, 96, of Midlothian, Virginia went home to be with the Lord Jesus on May 17, 2024.

Born May 20, 1927, in Chatham, VA. She was the daughter of the late Oscar Hodnett and the late Mattie Lewis Hodnett and her dearly loved adopted parents the late John Robert Yates and the late Vivian White Yates. 

She was married to Raymond Edward Hay Sr. In 1947 for 54 years.

Frances is survived by her son, Raymond Edward Hay Jr. and his wife, Karen of Powhatan, and her other son Robert (Bo) Earnest Hay and his wife, Laurie of Midlothian; one sister, Carolyn H Brown of Volens; nine grandchildren, Ronald Gary Edwards, Jr., Jason Ryan Hay, Jeffrey Scott Edwards, Angela Gayle Doolittle, Jennifer Ann Heath, Bryan Edward Hay, Candace Michelle Hay, Brett Christian Hay and Trent Alexander Hay. Nine great- grandchildren, Sydney Grace Edwards, Brenden James Hise, Mackenzie Faith Doolittle, Landen Alexander Hay, Raymond Dixon Parrish, Lauren Alexa Hay, Isaac Edward Hay, Cheyanne Taylor Quinn, and Isabella Grace Hay 

She was predeceased by her Husband, Raymond Edward Hay, Sr.; her daughter, Frances Ann Edwards; four sisters Myrtle H. Dodd, Estelle H. Meadows, Lucille H. Hicks, Adelle H. Parsons; and two brothers Jesse Wilson Hodnett and a brother that passed in infancy.

Frances was a friend to everyone she met. She was most known for her love and dedication to her husband and family. She touched so many lives throughout her 96 years even up to her last days with us. She is missed dearly but we find comfort and peace knowing that she is with our Lord Jesus, her husband, and countless family members and friends in her forever Heavenly Home.

The family will have an interment ceremony for France at 2pm, Friday the 24^th at Maury Cemetery followed by a gathering to celebrate Frances’s life at Bo & Laurie’s residence.
