Obituary

Herndon, Frances P., 74, of Chester, VA, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018. She is preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Robert L. and Eddis Poindexter; sister, Catherine Draper; and brother, Fred. She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Wayne Herndon; son, Wayne (Jennifer); daughter, Julanne (Scott); granddaughter, Mackenzie; sister, Sarah Pickel; and many nieces, nephews, and siblings by marriage. Her joys were her faith in God and the love for her family, especially her beautiful granddaughter. She was known to sing anywhere and anytime that the spirit moved her. She also found fun and excitement traveling to the casinos on getaways with her family. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Chester Presbyterian Church, 3424 W. Hundred Rd., Chester, VA 23831. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Special Olympics Virginia, 3212 Skipwith Rd., Suite 100, Richmond, VA 23294.

    I would like to extend condolences to the family for your loss. I have found so much comfort in this scripture at Revelation chapter 21 verse 3 and 4. There it shows that God will alleviate the suffering that comes along with the loss of our loved ones.
