After graduation he was drafted into the U.S. Army and trained in Columbia, S.C. and was sent to Chu Lai, Vietnam. Upon his return he married Bonne’ Morgan in 1970. He worked in the HVAC field for a few years and then took a teaching position at Paul D. Camp Community College in Franklin, VA. He initiated the HVAC program and taught it as well. George would have you covered and then some! He loved people fiercely and deeply which will be his lasting legacy. He was an avid animal lover that enjoyed spending time with his buddies hunting and fishing. George earned the name Bull Dog which he relentlessly lived up to. His favorite place to be was at Lake Gaston tinkering around on a boat with his buddies while they all gave their opinion on what the problem was, or telling all the best jokes, and cruising on his pontoon catching the latest sunsets with family and friends.
