Obituary

Gilbert W. Lewis, 83, of North Chesterfield, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 22, 2024. He was born in Farnham, Virginia on December 22, 1940.  Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents, William H. Lewis and Frances H. Lewis, and his son, Wade A. Lewis.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Loroda Lewis; his daughter, Judy Barnett (Charles); grandchildren, Amanda Figg (Bobby) and Casey Harrier (Scott); great-grandchildren, Olivia Harrier and Scarlett and Hazel Figg; sister, Bertha Sanders (Horace); niece, Gladys Stevens (Roy); and great-nieces, Candice and Virginia Stevens.

He will be missed by all who knew him. He was known for his volunteer work at Chesterfield County Police Roadside Motor Assistance. He retired from McLean Trucking after working for them for 16 years. He also worked for Food Lion, retiring in 2006. He was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church in Farnham, Virginia.

His Memorial Service will be held on December 7th at 11:00 a.m.

  1. Our heart’s are broken 💔 .I will still tell you Happy Birthday on the 22nd just like I promised I would do. You are more like a Brother than a Brother in law. We sure will miss you but we will meet again in a better place where there is no more pain or sorrow. Love you always💖💖

  2. Gilbert, I didn’t get to visit as often as I would have liked because my husband was sick but I will never forget you. Sending love and prayers for your family.
