Obituary

Girtha Jacobs Sizer, 81, of Chesterfield, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 25, 2014. She is survived by her daughter, Michele Sizer-Foster; grandson, Paul PJ Foster; granddaughter, Tammy Lea Spence; sisters Martha, Dorothy, Shirley, and Linda; brothers Nathaniel, Saffo Jr., Luther, and Kenny; great-niece, Carolynn; and many other family members. She was preceded in death by her brother and sister, Saul and Grace. Girtha was a retired lab technician from Allied Signal after 37 years of service. She was a member of the Red Hatters in Chesterfield for many years. She will be missed and loved by all. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road (Rte. 10). Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Dale Memorial Park.

    My life was made a little bit brighter because I knew Girtha. Her quiet and gentle ways with her sweet smile always made our Red Hat gatherings more pleasant. Never heard her say an unkind word about anybody. She was an example to follow. My condolences to her family. Ann Brunner
