Glenda Williams Chewning (89) of Chesterfield went to be with the Lord on December 27, 2022.

She is preceded in death by her husband William Ashby Chewning. Glenda is survived by her son William Chewning Jr. (Michelle), daughters Mitzi Morin, Deborah Mills (Kenneth), Loretta Rogers (Keith), Diane Carter (Jeffrey) Susan Morgan (Gary), grandchildren Christopher Mills (Erica), Jason Mills (Amanda), Trisha Chewning, Shannon Santana, Megan Lloyd (Patrick), Roscoe Carter, William Chewning (Emily), Ashleigh Grizzard (Jason), Eric Rogers (Hailey), Kelsey Morgan (fiancée Matthew), and Hunter Morgan. Glenda also had 17 great-grandchildren that she loved dearly.

Glenda was an avid volunteer at Heritage Baptist Church. She was also a lover of music and singing. Glenda was most happy when she spent time visiting with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was always ready with an open home and arms for them. Holidays and get togethers were special for her and her family with all the food and laughter.

A visitation will be held Tuesday January 3, 2023, from 5 p.m. till 7 p.m. at Morrissett Funeral Home located at 6500 Iron Bridge Road North Chesterfield Va. 23234. A funeral service will be held January 4, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Heritage Baptist Church located at 7777 Cogbill Road Chesterfield Va. 23832. A graveside service is to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

  1. I am so sorry for your loss. Your mom was a wonderful lady, loved by all. She brought sunshine to wherevershe was.

  2. I am sorry to hear of her passing. Your mom was a very sweet person. I Remember when we were kids we would play at y’all’s house your mom had vacation Bible school when we were kids.your mom was one of the neighborhood moms the boys in the neighborhood could never get away with anything because we had moms at every corner.

  3. I know it is a blessing to know she is in no more pain. Our mothers are probably singing “In the Garden” together at Jesus’s feet. much love to all of you. May God’s grace be with each of you.
