Obituary

Gordon R. Webb, 93, went to be with the Lord on February 8. He was preceded in death by his wife (Merle Webb), his parents, and his eight siblings. He is survived by his stepdaughter Dianne Samford (Sam); grandchildren, Morgan Brooks (James) and Kendall Rountree (Sara); great grandchildren, Harper, Hunter, Kory, and Olivia. Gordon grew up in Spout Springs (Appomattox County, VA) and graduated from Appomattox High School before joining the US Army. As a World War II Veteran who served by driving a tank in France till the end of the war, he was a shining example of pride in the country he served. While retired, he enjoyed gardening, bird watching and spending time with his family. He was always fond of animals, especially his last cat, “Sunshine” who showed up on his door on Christmas Eve and stayed for 14 years. Gordon”™s graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 24 at Dale Memorial Park, 10201 Newby”™s Bridge Rd. N. Chesterfield, VA 23832. In lieu of flowers we ask that any donations be made to the Richmond Animal League of Chesterfield (RAL) through his memorial page at www.inmemof.org/gordon-r-webb.
