Obituary
H. Andrew “Andy” Rist, born December 11, 1946, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. Survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Jan; daughter Stacy; son, Todd (Sarah); grandchildren, Christan (Kevin) and Courtney; great-grandchildren, Micah and Emery.
Andy desired his obituary be very simple. The Apostle Paul said it best, whether I live or die; I do so for the Lord. Blessed be the name of the Lord.
Andy Served in the USMC, Richmond Police Dept. for 7 years, and Pastor at Oak Grove Baptist Church for over 25 years from where he retired in 2017.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, with Andy’s Celebration of Life and Home Going to follow at 12:00 pm at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd., N. Chesterfield, VA 23234. Entombment private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local church, Samaritan Purse Ministries, or Gideon International. I am so sorry to hear of Andy’s passing. He was a big brother to me. I looked up to him in every way. He really looked after our family and was a great example to us all. I will greatly miss knowing he’s not around.
