Obituary

H. Andrew “Andy” Rist, born December 11, 1946, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. Survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Jan; daughter Stacy; son, Todd (Sarah); grandchildren, Christan (Kevin) and Courtney; great-grandchildren, Micah and Emery.

Andy desired his obituary be very simple. The Apostle Paul said it best, whether I live or die; I do so for the Lord. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

Andy Served in the USMC, Richmond Police Dept. for 7 years, and Pastor at Oak Grove Baptist Church for over 25 years from where he retired in 2017.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, with Andy’s Celebration of Life and Home Going to follow at 12:00 pm at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd., N. Chesterfield, VA 23234. Entombment private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local church, Samaritan Purse Ministries, or Gideon International.   1. Jan, I was saddened to learn of Andy’s passing. I remember well first meeting Andy at Stockton those many years ago and when you two were married. Our paths only crossed a couple of times after he became a pastor. He led a former neighbor of mine to the Lord, that I thought was a miracle. Praying for you and your family as you travel these difficult days without Andy.
