Obituary
Hatcher Dargin Wilson III, of Chester, VA closed his eyes for the last time on Saturday, February 14, 2026, ending this journey on earth to go and be with his Lord and Savior. He was born on December 13, 1942 in Richmond, Virginia.
He is survived by his brother, Ralph Wilson (Melody); sister, Lois Hicks (Randy); and numerous nieces and nephews. He remained a bachelor all his life.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Lucille Wilson; father, Hatcher Dargin Wilson Jr., sister, Edith Wilson; and brother, David Wilson.
Hatcher was known by various names, his sister Lois, called him Hatcher Boy; his brother David, called him Hatch; and his brother Ralph, called him Junior, he would answer to all of them.
Hatcher was a devoted Christian. He was a caretaker of his parents. He was generous, a loyal, and hard-working employee of Dillards Department store. He was in the Army for two years, stationed in Germany. He also had a sense of humor.
Having dementia robbed him of most of his memories but one favorite memory was when his father took him and Ralph fishing on the Dock Street in Richmond. They would go for catfish and sometimes would actually catch fish. He also loved his sister Lois’s corn pudding. Every time that his sister would visit him, he would call her Lois My Love.
The family would like to give gratitude to the Chase City Health & Rehab Center in Chase City, Virginia for their attention and care that was given to Hatcher during his stay with them.
