Obituary

Helen Beard passed away at 4:00 PM on Friday, July 25, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on April 23, 1940, Helen grew up in the town of Ivanhoe. She later moved to Chester, where she spent most of her adult years.

Helen raised two daughters, Barbie Blair and Sandra Davenport, while working at Philip Morris. She retired at 55 with her husband, Carl Beard. Helen had a love for travel, taking multiple trips across the United States by train and bus to enjoy natural and man-made sights. An avid bingo player, NASCAR fan, fisherwoman, and gardener with a true green thumb, Helen spent her later life residing in the Braxton Community, where she enjoyed organizing events with her friends.

Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 30, at 2:00 PM at Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd, North Chesterfield, VA 23234. She is survived by her two sisters, two daughters, her grandson, and five great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed until the Day of Glory when Christ returns.

    Helen was an amazing woman. I enjoyed many holidays, card games, fishing trips, shopping and even quarantine with her and have so many great memories. See you in Heaven sweet lady!
