Obituary
Isabel Clingenpeel Thrasher, 91, of Chesterfield, formerly of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 26, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garnett Crush Thrasher; a sister, Helen Cromer; two brothers, Lewis and Eldridge Clingenpeel; and a grandson, Brian Thrasher. She is survived by her son, Gary Thrasher (Mary); her daughter, Brenda T. Niedermayer (Ron); her sister, Melva White; her grandchildren, Chris Capps (Megan), Jeff Capps (Fawn), Brian Niedermayer (Lizzie), Kim Martin (Jim), Shelly McPartlin (Dan); and 13 great-grandchildren. Isabel retired as secretary/treasurer from Claude Harrison and Co. Advertising Agency after many years of service. She was a member of P.E.O. Chapter M in Richmond, the Lunch Bunch in Chesterfield, the Roses, and Oakland Baptist Church in Roanoke. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rte 10). Mrs. Thrasher will be transferred to Oakey’s Funeral Home (North Chapel), 6732 Peters Creek Rd., Roanoke, VA, where the family will receive friends on Saturday, March 8, 2014, from 1 to 2 p.m., with her funeral service to begin at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Roanoke, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Oakland Baptist Church, 3623 Roundhill Ave., Roanoke, VA 24012.
