Obituary
Jackson Lucas Butcher, age 3, was called home to be with Jesus on January 10, 2026. Though his time on earth was far too short, his life was filled with purpose, love, and a light that will never fade.
Jackson was a joyful, determined, and radiant little boy who filled every space with light. He loved music, his rattle, Bluey, and being surrounded by the people he adored. With his bright smile, happy wiggles, and natural rhythm, Jackson could dance his way into anyone’s heart and instantly lift the room around him.
Jackson worked incredibly hard in physical, occupational, and speech therapy, meeting each challenge with courage, determination, and a spirit that inspired all who knew him.
Jackson is survived by his loving parents, Jacob and Meghan Butcher; his baby brother, Jase; his grandparents Jason and Natalie Butcher of King William and his grandmother Lisa Lucas of Midlothian; his uncle Robert; his aunt and uncle Jeremy and Rachel Butcher and their daughter Scarlett; and his aunt and uncle Antonio and Emily Evola and their son Luca — along with many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Edward Lucas Jr.
The family gives heartfelt thanks to the teachers, therapists, doctors, and specialists God placed in Jackson’s life, whose care and kindness blessed him and supported him throughout his journey.
Though we grieve deeply, Jackson’s family takes comfort in knowing he is now whole, healed, and dancing in the presence of the Lord — surrounded by peace, music, and perfect love. His light continues to shine in our hearts as we hold onto the promise of seeing him again.

My heart is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my sweet boy, Jackson. I am truly blessed that Jacob and Meghan entrusted me with the honor of caring for their beautiful son at KinderCare Bon Air.
May God wrap His loving arms around Jacob, Meghan, Jase, and the entire Butcher family, granting them comfort, strength, and peace during this unimaginable time. Jackson now rests in his eternal miracle, and one day we shall meet him again on the other side of Heaven.
With love and heartfelt sympathy,

Dear Meghan & Jacob,
I am so deeply sorry for the loss of your precious son, Jackson. There are no words that can truly ease the pain of losing a child, especially one so full of life and joy. Please know that my heart is broken alongside yours.
Your sweet boy meant so much to me while I was the Director and to everyone at KinderCare. I will miss him dearly—his beautiful smile, his laughter, and the light he brought into every room. He was truly special, and his memory will forever remain in my heart.
This loss has affected me tremendously, and I continue to grieve with you. I am lifting your family up in prayer, asking God to wrap His loving arms around you, to give you comfort, peace, and strength during this incredibly difficult time. May you feel His presence carrying you through each moment, especially on the days that feel unbearable.
Please know that you are not alone. You and your family will always be remembered and held close in my thoughts and prayers.
With deepest sympathy and love,
Joshua Blakey-Terrell aka Mr. Josh

There are no words big enough to honor how deeply Jackson is loved and will be missed. Being Jackson’s Aunt & Uncle was one of the greatest gifts of our lives. His laughter, determination, and beautiful spirit will stay with us forever. His bright smile, sweet giggles, and coos brought so much light into our lives. We will always remember his amazing head of hair, his love for music and his dance moves, and the determination he showed from the very beginning – such a strong, beautiful boy.
Jackson will always be Luca’s first, first cousin, his first friend, and his closest family member. That bond can never be broken. We promise to always share stories of Jackson with Luca so he will grow up knowing Jackson will always be a part of his story and how loved he was through his time on Earth.
Jackson changed us forever. His love will live on in our hearts always, and we take comfort knowing he is wrapped in perfect peace and love.
Jacob, Meghan, and Baby Jase – We are holding you close in our hearts today and everyday. We love you!
