Obituary

Jacob Reed Tunnell, born, November 26, 1994 on a beautiful sunny fall day has transitioned to the loving arms of God. He was lovingly welcomed by his precious “Papa”, Charles Spencer Tunnell and his beloved Grandpa John Charles Helms (J.C.) who held him for such a short time before his own passing. He also had a big stack of pancakes waiting from his loving Granny Helms. Jacob leaves behind his mom, Martha, who loves him beyond measure. His Dad, Aaron, who he worked beside every day and who will forever miss his company. Jacob has a sister, Abby Catherine Gallini who he would give his life to protect. He also has a brother, John Connor (J.C.) Gallini who will miss his big brother endlessly.   The most important person in his life besides his mom is his beloved “Mimi”, Judy Tunnell. Jacob being the first grandchild was spoiled rotten and loved his Mimi like no other. Mimi will always be the most special person to Jacob. Jacob recently adopted a precious puppy who he named “Benny Gringo” Benny is a white German Shepherd. Benny will live a spoiled and special life with his Dad, Aaron and step mom Jill.

Jacob was a dispatcher at the family business, Dominion Service Company of Richmond. He was looking forward to advancing into sales like his Dad and had recently earned his Journeyman card. Jacob worked very hard. Sometimes even coming in on the weekend to help his friend and coworker Blad with a hard job. It was nothing for Jacob to scale a ladder to a roof or crawl under houses for a job. He was proud to do it because it would have made his late grandfather, Charles Spencer Tunnell, so proud. Charlie, as he was known, was a gentle soul. He loved Jacob so much. They were totally bonded. Now Jacob will lie next to him forever at Sunset Memorial Park.

One of the things that made Jacob happiest was spending time with his friends, especially in his garage working on cars. There were many hours and late nights figuring out problems, telling stories and having deep conversations. Helping each other work things out. He knew he could rely on his friends in every way, and they knew they could rely on him.

Jacob was a friend to all. Loving and fiercely protective. Always willing to help however he could.  He never got over the passing of his best friends Tanner Crone and Cal Reilly. They laid on his heart. Now they are joyfully reunited. Jacob Reed Tunnell will be forever missed. Always answering a phone call from his mama even if it was just to check in. The first to volunteer to help a friend move. The shoulder to cry on. The friend to lean on. There will never be another Jacob. Until we meet again our precious son. We love you Jacob.
