Obituary

James “Jim” Ronald Allen, 84, of Chesterfield, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on January 23, 2026, passing peacefully at home.
He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Allen Sr.; his mother, Viola Allen; and his brother, Norman Allen Jr., brother-in-law Jimmy Hinegardner.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Olinda “Linda” Stafford-Allen; his sisters, Janis Dalton (Russell) and Diane Hinegardner; his brother, Jerry Allen (Tanya);sister-in- law Carol Allen, his son, David Allen (Theresa); his granddaughter, Kayla Meyers (Eric); his grandson, James “Jamie” Allen (Randi); and his great-grandson, Wesely James Allen. He is also survived by his stepdaughter, Julie Sheffield (Mark); his stepson, Daryle Stafford Jr. (Kahealani); and five step-grandchildren: Makayla, Kamden, Kamaile, Kole, and McKoy Stafford. He is further survived by his sister-in-law, Diane Glover (Tommy).
Jim was a devoted servant of his country and his faith. He served faithfully in the United States Navy and carried that same steadfast commitment into every chapter of his life. A Godly man who loved the Lord, Jim attended Oak Forest Baptist Church in Chesterfield, where his faith was evident not only in what he believed, but in how he lived—treating others with kindness and genuine care.
Above all, Jim cherished his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, and his steady presence brought comfort and joy to those closest to him.
Jim’s joyful spirit filled the home, often accompanied by his singing and humming. A lifelong sports fan, he especially loved drag racing and NASCAR. On sunny days, he could often be found on the patio working on crossword puzzles, content in the simple moments.
Jim loved to laugh, tell jokes, and brighten the room with an easy smile. He had a rare gift for making people feel valued, and he carried that gift everywhere he went.
Jim will be remembered as a man of faith, integrity, and genuine warmth—someone who lived with purpose, loved with consistency, and left an impact that will be felt for generations.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 28, at 5101 Oak Forest Baptist Church, Chesterfield VA. 23832 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p.m.

Ronnie was my uncle, an uncle I cherished. We had some great times together through the years. He was a jokester who loved a good laugh. His pet name for me was “Hotdog” because I loved hotdogs so much as a child. Even at the end of his life, he kept a good attitude, not fearing death, rather welcoming the chance to be with his Creator. When I spoke to him last and asked if I could come to see him, he said “You don’t have to, I am ok.” I miss you Ronnie. Godspeed.
